Starboard Formula and Slingshgot Hover Glide F/Wind with Tushingham Lightning 8.5

Am I destined to ever have a good day on the foil????? The forecast looked ideal today 12 knots + but with showers and when I checked Landguard first thing it was wsw over 12 knots so I headed over to Levington Marina to sail the tide in before the rain arrived! When I got there, it looked perfect loads of water with the cross on wind gusting to 19mph and I nearly rigged 7.8!!!! but decided against it and went for my usual 8.5 to try out my new 90cm mast. Again, by the time I had my shortie on the wind had gone really light but I still beat out of the marina entrance and headed off across the bay hoping for some gusts. Sadly, it ended up even worse than my last foiling session at Bradfield. I got my one and only gust get in the air for 50m as the rain started and the rain all but disappeared!!!! I spent an hour sailing slowly back and forth but that was it for wind so called it a day. With it raining nicely now I read a couple of chapters of my book waiting for high water to see if that effected the wind, it didn’t. I then had a nice chat with Swainy who had delivered a boat and he calls that work:) So the jury is still out on foiling, I will never crack it if every time I go the wind is only 5 knots, relying on the forecast is a waste of time!!!! Judging from the messages I had on the Felixstowe WhatsApp when I got home, if we spent as much time doing it as talking about we would all be experts !!!!! :)
